A holiday on our property offers visitors a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city living, featuring good old-fashioned country hospitality. So whether you want to get out and experience the fun of living on a farm, or simply relax and unwind, we offer something for everyone.
McDonald’s Farm, near historic Hill End, Mudgee and Dubbo offers homestead cooking, hands-on farm activities like feeding the pet lambs, chooks, ducks and turkeys, bushwalking and pony rides.
One of most popular activities is our hosted wildilfe spotting on the back of the 4WD - to see who we can meet under the stars. We might meet kangaroos, rabbits foxes and perhaps even a wild pig! Come and meet our pet pig Porky, Jenny the donkey and Ted the kangaroo.
A recent addition on our property is the newly renovated Shearers’ Cottage. Built over 100 years ago, we have lovingly restored it to its former charm. It contains two bedrooms (that sleep five comfortably) and is fully self-contained. Breakfast and linen are included and guest can make use of the BBQ facility. Alternatively we can cater for all other meals as well.
The Homestead accommodation comprises of 1 double bedroom, another bedroom with two singles and bathroom. Cots are available upon request.
Full board is available for your stay: this includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, and even includes morning and afternoon tea (such as scones, cream and home-made jam). |
