Gagudju Lodge Cooinda
Home of Yellow Water | |
In the heart of Kakadu National Park is Cooinda, the setting for Gagudju Lodge Cooinda, home of Yellow Water Cruises.
Spread beneath a shady canopy of trees, Gagudju Lodge Cooinda offers a choice of accommodation, including air-conditioned lodge rooms, budget rooms, and caravan and camp sites.
Yellow Water Cruises, one of the Kakadu’s famed wilderness experiences, are not to be missed and transfers are available from Gagudju Lodge Cooinda. In this landlocked billabong the saltwater crocodile rules and the floodplains are enlivened with sightings of jabiru, sea eagle, whistling duck, and striking masses of lotus and water lillies. Your guides will introduce you to some of the most unforgettable sights and experiences.
After a day discovering all that Kakadu has to offer, return to Gagudju Lodge Cooinda and relax beside the resort-styled landscaped lagoon pool, enjoy a cool ale in the Barra Bar, or take a wildlife-spotting walk around the resort.
For dinner, the options are varied and include a la carte dining in MiMi Restaurant, featuring kangaroo, emu, buffalo and barramundi dishes. Alternatively go al fresco in Barra Bar & Bistro, where you can see your meal being prepared in the showcase kitchen and watch the latest sporting match on the big screens.
With its own general store, fuel pumps, internet kiosk and tour desk, Gagudju Lodge Cooinda is the perfect 2 or 3 day stopover to truly discover Kakadu. |
