Gladysdale Country Retreat is set on seven acres, with panoramic views over manicured vineyards and the Yarra Valley to Mount Donna Buang (the closest sightseeing snow to Melbourne). The property is surrounded by lovely Australian bush.
The Retreat is a very neat self-contained home, which includes all linen, including towelling and bedding. Six people are comfortably accommodated in three bedrooms, one double, and two rooms with two single beds. There is a bath, stepless shower and disabled access to the toilet. We provide a CD player, VCR, and TV, and there is also a piano that plays very well.
Gladysdale Country Retreat is pet-friendly accommodation with house-trained dogs allowed inside, which gives families the opportunity to enjoy their pet’s company while on holidays. From the easy-care floors to the expansive areas for pets to run, a dam for swimming and with no neighbours to distract man’s best friend, an inclusive family holiday can be enjoyed.
"The unassuming facade of the house belies the fact that, inside, it is a fine example of a five-star energy-rated home. Inspired by his uncle's non-grid-powered house in the early '80s, Simon says he so enjoyed its low-energy needs that "when it was my turn to build, I knew I would follow his lead". So the five visitors stayed snug over the chilly weekend, feasting on home-cooked meals and slouching comfortably amid the handsomely crafted furniture, much of it made by Helen's grandfather."
