Expansively laid out amidst six acres of hibiscus, banana and coconut palms, none of the Resort's buildings are higher than two storeys, and most of The Rarotongan's 156 rooms & suites are set on absolute beachfront. As part of The Rarotongan's continuing upgrade it features a new, boldly colourful Pacific aesthetic combined with the charm of Polynesian-style architecture. The Rarotongan is close to all island adventures and attractions and is just over 10 minutes drive from the International Airport and downtown Avarua.
All rooms come equipped with individual remote-controlled air-conditioning, a private verandah with outdoor furniture, filtered and UV purified water on tap, King beds in all rooms, fan & insect screen, bath / shower, hairdryer, IDD phone with voicemail, automatic wake-up call services and dataport for e-mail & internet access for those with their own laptop. Stocked mini-bar & fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, daily housemaid service, room service. Microwaves are also available for the convenience of families (hire costs NZ$10 per day). Also available for families or groups are five pairs of interconnecting rooms (three in the Garden category and two in the Beachfront category), plus two rooms specially-adapted for disabled guests.
Resort facilities and services include Poolside Cafe and Bar and Treetops Verandah Restaurant featuring daily a la carte specials & nightly theme dinners with a variety of top-quality live entertainment. Swimming pool with waterfall feature and sundecks. Activities hut with equipment for snorkelling, kayaking, beach volleyball, tennis courts and a comprehensive seven day activities programme. Games lounge with big screen, TV / video, pool table, table tennis and guest library.
Moko's Kids Club Kids Play Free: The large, colourful and well-equipped Moko's Kids Club includes a wide variety of toys, board games, books, paints & crafts, computer games, Play Station, videos, sports equipment, trampoline, play shop, Lego, large indoor sandpit plus a Kids Activities Programme of nature and culture discovery activities led by the friendly Kids Club team.
The Club is open to kids age 3-12 years inclusive from Mon-Sat, 9am-12noon, 2pm-5pm, 7pm-9pm, and includes kids' toilet and shower facilities. Under 3s can also join in the fun when supervised by a parent or babysitter (babysitting costs NZ$10 per hour, max. 2 children per sitter). At The Rarotongan kids 12 and under Stay Free (max. 2 adults & 2 children per room; rooms feature master bed, plus rollaway beds as needed).
