We have stayed twice at the Westin Denarau on Denarau Island Fiji with our little one, and loved it. We have been to the Westin Denarau 4 times in total! Pros - Beautiful resort with well established gardens to explore- the frogs come out at dusk and are great entertainment for the little and not so little people - A childrens pool, though they can use the pools at the adjoining villas that also are a set up for children, but with swim up bar and pool side service for the grown ups. - The staff are amazingly friendly, and have our and friends babies taken for the duration of the meal to "help" staff with their meal time service. - Very reasonably priced and reliable babysitting service. - Convenience store on site - great to buy provisions for lunches and breakfast if wanted. - Free shuttle to the marina for supplies, if you want to prepare some of your own meals. - Marina close by for a choice of different and affordable restaurants. The Indian Restaurant was particularly good! - Didn't use kids club, but kids seemed to be having a ball Cons - Some rooms in 2008 were looking a little tired. Ask for a new refurbed room, or stay at the villas for a little more room. We love this place and will return! Anonymous

We would recommend The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa, Fiji in Nadi to anyone, from singles to couples to families. We went as a family of 3 adults and 3 teenagers. You are probably aware how difficult it is to keep teenagers active but at this resort it was easy. We chose to stay in one of the resorts 2 bedroom villa's which had 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. This gave us a choice of doing our own cooking if we wanted to.
Mornings began with a full buffet breakfast with a table by the beach. With a view like that, the day is sure to be a good one. During the day, the kids were entertained with activities such as: -the 'Flyfish' or parasailing directly off the beach at our resort -day trips to neighbouring islands -giant chess games -swimming in the variety of pools available -catching the free shuttle bus around Denarau Island -fish feeding off the beach at our resort -playing tennis -visit the spa to get your hair braided -plus many other activities.
The night times were full of activity too. We began with cocktails (non-alcoholic for the kids of course) before a fire display in the reception pool area as the burnt orange sunset filled the sky. You could stay and listen to live music or join one of the many nightly attractions. There were 17 restaurants and bars to choose from, yes 17!!! One night, we went to a traditional Fijian night where they cooked food in the ground while they displayed a traditional dance. It was a great experience. The atmosphere was also relaxing. All day, every day, there were Fijian men sitting around singing with their acoustic guitars. Even the waitresses in the restaurant would break out in song. It was amazing to hear. The Fijian people are so hospitable, so friendly, absolutely beautiful people. Not one Fijian would walk past you without saying hello. We really did not want to leave. Libby Thompson & family

We stayed at the Westin Resort at Denarau and then a few days at Plantation Island. They were both very family friendly with the Westin offering a kids club during the day and plenty of staff to just play games and chill out. The people were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed all sorts of activities including kayaking, swimming in the pools and beach, snorkelling in the beautiful warm water and banana boat rides.
On the main island make sure you head to the marina at Denarau where the Fijians put on a free cultural show twice a week and the restaurants are kid friendly and clean. It was by far the best family holiday ever and as a first trip overseas it was so easy and carefree. Debbie
