4 things to do with kids in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is an exciting, vibrant city making it a feast for the senses and perfect to keep the kids entertained from morning to night.

1. Visit Disneyland Hong Kong

A visit to Disneyland in Hong Kong is an absolute must for a family day out that is fun for all ages. The park is the smallest of all the Disney parks around the world so itís easily achievable to experience most of it in one day.

Toy Story land is a major attraction here with themed rides from the movie and opportunities to meet the characters. Kids will love marching and singing along with the green toy soldiers from the Toy Story Movie in real life.

Hyperspace Mountain and Big Grizzly Mountain runaway mine cars and perfect rides for those who enjoy more of a thrill. Make sure you book ahead for the Disney Dim Sum at the Crystal Lotus restaurant. Kids will love that their food resembles some of their favourite Disney and Pixar characters such as Baymax and Olaf.

2. Visit the Peak

No visit to Hong Kong is complete without a visit to Victoria Peak. You will see the best panoramic views of Hong Kong from up there including the world-famous vista of Victoria Harbour.

Take a taxi up there to save waiting in the long lines for the Peak Tram and then take the Peak Circle Walk which winds around the highest point on Hong Kong Island. The 20-minute walk takes you to Lugard Road lookout where youíll find the best panoramic views of Victoria Harbour for free. When itís time to head back down, Kids will especially love the thrill of the ride down the Peak on the 125-year-old Peak Tram.

3. Take a City Tour

There is nothing like experiencing a city with a local tour guide as you get to see the real side to the city rather than just the tourist spots. You can book private tours to suit your needs and interests with Tours by locals such as the Hong Kong full-day tour where youíll discover some of Hong Kongís best kept secrets to visit and eat all while being flexible enough to cater for the Kids. Throughout the day the kids will be amazed by the colourful food markets, trying new cuisine, crossing Victoria Harbour on the Star Ferry and finding fish in the cityís traditional gardens.

4. Enjoy afternoon Tea

Hong Kong was once a British colony so youíll discover many British traditions and references throughout the city such as the tradition of afternoon tea that involves sitting down for an afternoon treat of tea, sandwiches, scones and cake.

Hong Kong Disneyland offers afternoon tea such as the Royal Afternoon tea at Waltís Cafe where the kids will love that their scones and cakes are Mickey shaped. Our kids also enjoyed afternoon tea at to Seasons by Oliver E because it came with a huge serving of fairy floss plus the most delicious scones ever.
