Carnival adds even more fun for families

cruise for kids

As if the kid friendly cruise line’s Camp Carnival Kids’ Clubs, the Seuss at Sea program, Night Owls and Carnival Waterworks with its epic water slides and kids’ SplashZone weren’t already enough to keep the kids in a perpetual state state of happiness, Carnival Australia has upped the ante with a whole new raft of kid friendly entertainment.

Carnival Australia will bring Hasbro game classics like Trivial Pursuit, Guess Who and Cranium to life with oversized props for play around the ships throughout each cruise. One that is sure to excite junior detectives is the ever-popular Cluedo which will take to the high seas with Professor Plum and his infamous colleagues presenting their alibis at the beginning of each cruise, and delivering clues throughout the voyage so passengers can help to solve the mystery.

Creative cruisers will be able to unleash their artistic spirit at the new Creative Cove on Carnival Spirit with family arts and craft sessions.

If you like to boogie, there’ll be 80s Rock and Glow theme nights and active kids can hit the decks where they’ll find inflatable bocce courts rolling out in the coming months.

Also on the horizon for the local ships will be a new Lip Sync Battle, due to be rolled out in late 2017 and based on the hugely popular US TV show.

But Carnival’s littlest passengers will be most excited by the opportunity to create their very own teddy – complete with a personality, heart and a special wish – at the pop-up Build-A-Bear Workshop in Camp Ocean where kids can bring cuddly bears, bunnies, monkeys, leopards and sharks to life.

Once they've purchased their new stuffed friend, they can make it truly their own with a range of costumes from sparkly tutus to superman capes.

For the teddy who wants a tan on their cruise holiday, there’s swimwear and sunglasses.

Now available on Carnival Legend, the Build-A Bear workshop will join Carnival Spirit in early 2017.

When she’s not treading on Lego and being forced to watch Frozen on loop, Aleney de Winter is a travel, food and parenting writer. She shares tales of travelling and eating along with the hilarious antics of her globetrotting six-year old foodie son and daredevil three-year old daughter on her blog, Boy Eats World.
