A Kooky Halloween in LA

4 Exciting Things To Do in LA With Kids!

America is known for its welcoming hospitality and the amount of energy it puts into celebrating holidays. Spending Halloween in Los Angeles allows the family to experience a perfect combination of the two.

1. Disneyland

One of the most quintessential American experiences made even better by Halloween.

The annual Halloween experience has Disneyland decorated with skeletons and jack-o'-lanterns including a spooky Micky Mouse carved pumpkin. There's also Halloween themed foods and merchandise to complete the day.

The Haunted The Haunted MansionMansion and Space Mountain become 'The Haunted Mansion Holiday' with with Jack Skellington from the Walt Disney Pictures classic, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, moving into the abode. A gingerbread house is erected, and zombie gingerbread men supervise a house of cards construction while helicopter bats hover above. At Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, the once starry skies becomes a ghostly galaxy filled with eerie screams, sound effects and music.

A separate ticket can also be purchased to Mickey's Halloween Party where guests can come in costume, trick-or-treat throughout Disneyland Park, watch the Paint the Night parade and Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular and go to the Monsters U Dance Party on 17 selected nights.

2. Trick-or-treating on Balboa Island

Trick-or-treating on this island gets busy early as word has spread about the delicious candy given out by local residents.

Everywhere you look you're bound to see houses decorated with hand-carved pumpkins, spiders sitting in giant spiderwebs, skeletons and more scary oranments.

Traffic starts flowing into the island from 4pm so make sure you get there by at least 5pm or park at Newport Beach and catch the Balboa Island Ferry across.
