Frozen Family Fun

at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth

What better way to indulge in a little mother daughter bonding than on a Frozen inspired adventure with Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s magical Disney Family Fun “Frozen” package, launched to celebrate the cinematic release of 'Olaf’s Frozen Adventure' on 26th December.

There’s something about the welcoming Bonjour of a Sofitel hotel that promises a wonderful stay and our visit to Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is no exception as we are swept away to a magical world of fairy tales and adventure, with a French twist, as soon as we arrive.

From the welcoming fruit plate to a trio of Frozen treats lying in wait on our bed, we feel immediately at home in our plush room. My daughter loves the gorgeous Frozen story book and pretty snowflake adorned nightlight, but she is particularly smitten with a cuddly ‘Snowgie’, one of Elsa’s sneezed little snowmen.

We enjoy a decadent dinner of French-inspired delights at the hotel’s Garden Court Restaurant, a pretty space with a garden courtyard vibe and where, as part of our Disney Family Fun package, my daughter eats for free. Full, we decide to wait for dessert which we order from room service a little later and devour snuggled in bed as we watch an in-room Disney movie together.

The following morning, we breakfast at the sprawling buffet before we visit the neighboring arcade for matching manicures in Elsa blue in readiness for the main event, a magically Frosted High Tea in hotel’s Soirée dining room, which appears to have been given a makeover by Elsa herself, with snowy trees and icicles decorating the normally retro chic interior. A splash of iciest blue completes the picture, as children clad in their most dazzling Elsa costumes fill the room. My own suitably adorned ice princess is swept away by the glittering decorations and is radiant when she is presented with a snowflake sprinkled hot chocolate and a towering high tea platter packed with ‘Frozen’ inspired treats.

The kids plate comes with a chicken brioche and cucumber finger sandwich, a sweet Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta, Frosted macarons, Vanilla frost cupcakes, snow ball cookies and a ridiculously cute Olaf religieuse that is consumed with giddy delight by my cake-loving daughter. She’s also presented with a Frozen activity book, to add to the magic.

My three-tiered platter trades the children’s savouries for a salmon quiche, fluffy bao bun stuffed with shrimp, and a lovely, light cucumber, cream and herb sandwich. Just in case my calorie intake isn’t quite stratospheric enough with the cake ensemble, there is an additional blueberry tartlet and snow meringue back up. I am offered the option of upgrading to a sparkling wine or champagne, but in the interests of adulting I decline and stick to the menu of teas.

The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s Frozen Family Fun Package is available until 31 January 2018 with packages including accommodation in a Superior Room, Disney welcome gifts, buffet breakfast for two adults and one child plus complimentary dinner for children up to 12 years of age when dining with a paying adult.

The elegant Frosted High Tea can be booked separately and is ideal for the entire family to enjoy with adult and kids’ options. And for families dreaming of a “white” Christmas, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth will be hosting a Winter Wonderland luncheon in the historic Wentworth Ballroom on Christmas Day. There will be live entertainment, a traditional Christmas feast, fabulously ‘Frozen’ desserts plus a special guest appearance from Santa as well as a few special guests visiting all the way from Arendelle.
