Skylanders unleashes kids’ creativity.

Video Game

Get set for the kids to unleash their creativity with the release of Skylanders Imaginators, the latest incarnation of the phenomenally popular video game.

On sale now, the all-new adventure features puzzles, battles, a compelling storyline and a new line up of heroes and villains.

But the biggest difference is that for the first time ever Portal Masters have been given the power to express their imaginations as they create their own Skylanders.

With endless creation options Portal Masters can customise their Skylanders Imaginators appearance, powers, abilities, names, voices, catchphrases, and even musical themes. Creative kids will spends hours coming up with their own unique characters.

Even the premise for the game is imaginative.

The story takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as ‘Mind Magic’ to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine. However, when they realised that it could be dangerous in the wrong hands they sealed it away. But evil Kaos has unleashed its power and is using it to create an unstoppable army. So it’s up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators to stop Kaos and his minions before it is too late.

Our own Skylanders aficionado, eight-year old Rafferty gives the new game a 10 out of 10.

“This is the best Skylanders yet. It is totally fun and I love being able to make my own characters. The first character I created is a Fire Class Skylander and though he looks pretty cute, he’s super fierce. I called him Fire Sensei.

The other cool thing about the new series is that Crash Bandicoot and his evil nemesis Dr Cortex are part of the game, so my dad wants to play with me, because he liked Crash Bandicoot when he was younger.

“Even my little sister, who has never really been interested in computer games before, loves this new game, especially making her own characters. And it is something we can play together. And because mum is happy that we’re using our imaginations, she’s not even yelling at us to stop playing, like she usually does when I play computer games for more than an hour. Sweet!”

A fun new mobile app also means fans can make their creations on the go! Featuring similar creation tools available in the Skylanders Imaginators console game, players can create Imaginators from scratch or magically transfer their created characters from the console game to the app.

Rafferty is also super excited about the launch of Skylanders Academy, a brand new animated comedy-adventure show, which will debut on Netflix on 28th October.

“All the characters are so cool and so funny that I think the show will be epic, just like the new game. I can’t wait to watch it,” he says.

Seems like we have one very happy Portal Master in the house.
