Huge, slippery and inflatable, there's nothing quite like the Trippo Slide. Scream as you race down a track of 53 metres, dropping 11 vertical metres while you're at it. Up until November 2013, the only place to experience Trippo thrills was in the United States. Now, however, there's an antipodean edition, causing the hearts of Aussies and Kiwis alike to race at the thought of plunging down the inflatable slide. The Trippo Slide is the latest attraction to grace the multi-award-winning entertainment complex that is Tekapo Springs on New Zealand's South Island.
Adding to the hot pools, day spa, year-round tube park and skating rink that have developed over the last six years, the Trippo Slide offers kids and families non-stop delight with three water-swirling slide chutes. Opening to rave reviews in November 2013, the Trippo Slide will be open until March on the site of the outdoor skating rink, perfectly located by the shores of Lake Tekapo. Kids can ride the Trippo Slide all day from just NZ$15, while a family pass (two adults, three children) will set you back NZ$77. Combo deals are available, starting from NZ$131 for summer.
