Falling for fun at Falls Creek

Victoria’s largest ski area has everything modern families could need to create their dream snow holiday.

The modern family deserves a modern family sort of mountain, abounding in terrain both welcoming and challenging, a charming village atmosphere and a long list of off-ski adventures. Falls Creek is just that mountain. It’s the type of place where everyone can have the holiday they choose without compromising on family togetherness.

Where kids rule
From the European-style ski-in, ski-out village, a world of snowy wonder awaits you. Australia’s longest beginners’ run, Wombats Ramble, embraces first-timers with its easy-going slope, while the Burton Riglet Park will return for a second year to teach kids aged three to six the basics of boarding.
Falls Creek makes it easy to take to the slopes by letting little ones under five ski free every day of the season (as well as over 70s). All kids are eligible for free skiing when accompanied by a paying adult and a pre-booked accommodation package for three nights or more – and really, who wouldn’t want to spend more than three nights at Falls?
The Renault Snowclub is made for skiers from three to five, and the Junior Workshop is all about instilling snow passion in kids aged six to 14. Families can even tackle the terrain together with a one- or two-hour private lesson, and morning group lessons for mum and dad have now been extended by 30 minutes to give you a 2.5-hour chance to perfect your technique with a passionate instructor.
For mums with kids ripping up the snowsports school, take a break at the Coffee Club, a relaxed, women-only group lesson (after a 10am coffee break, of course) for the same price as a regular lesson and a free lift pass for the day thrown in. If you want to challenge yourself off the groomers, take a new Side-Country Tour, giving you an entirely different way to discover the mountain.

It's easy with Snowscene
Book with the experts. Snowscene has been helping families discover the Victorian slopes for over 30 years. The all-inclusive Falls Creek School Holiday Special is ideal, from $1330 per adult and $665 per child. Visit for more details.

Just add snow
Activities are always more fun in the snow, and Falls Creek has a plethora to keep your family entertained. On Wednesday and Saturday, Wombats Ramble is illuminated for runs after dark, whether skiing, riding or gliding down on one of the resort’s unique snow bikes. The Snow Tube Park is a must for families, as is snowmobiling. Falls Creek is also the only place in Australia where you can hire and drive your own snowmobile on alpine trails… with the kids on the back!
