Ocean Beach Holiday Park

Ellen-Marie Lloyd and her family were one of four lucky winners in our NRMA Holiday Parks competition.

After checking in at NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park we headed straight to the swimming pool where we were pleased to find a beautiful resort and toddler pool, complete with a water slide for the kids and a heated spa. The pool area was so well looked after and there was plenty of room for sun chairs and umbrellas which was perfect for the 30-degree weather.

Following our swim, we hired go kart bikes and explored the park. The twin-seat bike was great for our three-year-old because it meant my husband could peddle him around. We enjoyed a bounce on the giant trampoline pillows and tested the incredible playground – both found inside the park – then headed to the water park which has fountains for the kids to run and splash around in.

Location loving
The location of the park means it is nice and close to Umina’s main street. We were easily able to get groceries and enjoy dinner in our cabin most nights. The onsite cafe is great for morning coffee! It is also close to a huge playground and recreational area that are within walking distance, so we visited those a few times during our stay.

The next day we explored the Australian Reptile Park, located just a short distance from NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park. The kids enjoyed the many fantastic animal encounters. We couldn’t recommend it more. We were also able to walk to the back of the park and take our little one on his first-ever fishing adventure in the nearby creek that runs into the ocean. Playing on the beach and making sandcastles was also a favourite activity.

Wandering free
There is a lot of wildlife around the park that our son just loved to go searching for. The huge array of birds, ducks, geese, rabbits and bugs meant that he was always chasing something around. Another bonus of Ocean Beach is that it is very quiet and safe for children who long to explore, which meant we were able to relax a little bit more.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Patonga Beach Hotel, following it up with a play at the beach and dinner at a great seafood restaurant in Woy Woy called Fisherman’s Wharf. In fact, we enjoyed our stay at the park so much that we decided to stay an extra night. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and very well maintained, and we look forward to returning again in the future.
