T
he most anticipated megaliner in
memory is heading to Australian
shores. Royal Caribbean’s mindblowing
Ovation of the Seas – a
‘smartship’ built for families – will sail
from Singapore to Australia on an exclusive
Cruiseco charter, and you can be among the
first to experience this new standard of sea
travel. Pack a sense of fun and adventure and
leave your land-bound worries at home,
because this ship will redefine family holidays.
The itinerary
Flexibility is the not-so-secret ingredient aboard
Cruiseco’s exclusive charter departing 30
November 2016.
Beginning in family-friendly
Singapore, this ultimate voyage allows you to
enjoy the full cruise in its 15-day entirety or
disembark at one of three Australian cities –
Fremantle (six nights), Adelaide (11 nights) or
Hobart (13 nights) – on its journey to Sydney.
Melbourne residents disembark in Hobart, with
a transfer from port to airport and a domestic
flight home included in the ticket price. | | |

Be the first
Ovation of the Seas is a ship of many firsts,
making the inaugural cruise to Australia all the
more special for passengers inspired by
innovation.
You’ll be among the first to
experience RipCord by iFly, a skydiving
simulation that takes thrills to new heights;
SeaPlex, the largest indoor active space at sea
complete with dodgems, roller-skating rink,
hoops court and a circus school; and Bionic
Bar, because having your martini poured by a
robot is just plain cool.
Perhaps the most
awe-inspiring of all, however, is North Star, an
aerial observatory with 360-degree views, 90
metres above sea level.

| Family connection
Royal Caribbean has continued to raise the
bar in the accommodation stakes, with no
detail left to chance in its luxurious staterooms.
Family Connected Staterooms (just add it to
the list of ‘firsts’) make cruising with kids from
tots to teens a sea breeze, while Virtual
Balconies revolutionise ‘budget’ cruising.
Inside cabins are transformed with 80-inch
screens displaying in realtime the views (and
sounds) from outside. These, in addition to
Ocean View Staterooms, make a happy home
for smaller families.
For bigger clans, the
Family Connected Junior Suite with balcony
– adorned with quality fabrics, striking art and
leather – contains a full bathroom with tub and
a choice of sitting areas (including a balcony
with deck chairs). | | | | | | |
|
All this is complemented by
clever storage solutions to maximise space,
and minimise sibling squabbles.
Comfort meets refinement
There are no less than 18 dining destinations
onboard Ovation of the Seas, meaning you’ll
need to visit a new venue each day to get close
to sampling the onboard cuisine in its entirety.
We recommend the kid-approved offerings at
specialty dining venue, Jamie’s Italian
(surcharges apply), and the complimentary fare
at one of five full-service restaurants.
Your quest
is aided by Dynamic Dining, Royal Caribbean’s
sanity-preserving idea that eliminates set dining
times, assigned seating and required formal
nights.
There’s even a menu devised by chef,
Devin Alexander, to reduce over-indulging;
‘Devinly Decadence’ meals amount to less than
500 calories without skimping on taste.

Relax at the spa
Nothing inspires a heady sense of relaxation
like being at sea, rendering Vitality Spa the
ultimate destination to cure a case of the daily
grind.
Its full menu of treatments from body
wraps to massage and acupuncture to facials
will instil in you enough long-forgotten energy
to make a visit to the Fitness Centre an
invigorating experience.
Fun for the family
In addition to ground-breakers, Ovation of the
Seas retains Royal Caribbean’s most loved
recreation facilities.
FlowRider, the Rock
Climbing Wall, a Broadway show, outdoor
cinema, four swimming pools and a nursery
for the little ones are just some of the activities
packed into this city-at-sea.
When night
descends, all eyes are fixated on the
performers that take over Two70º, a ballroom
with panoramic views by day and performance
venue by night.
It’s a sparkling end to a
journey that doesn’t last forever, although
you surely wish it could.
