School Holiday Activities 1 - 15 October 2006
Unleash kids' creativity at Kids in the Park!
This school holidays, there’s only one place where can the kids learn to make billy tea and damper, try solar cooking, row a canoe on a lilo, ride a flying fox, make tin whistles and bottle rockets. Where the kids can write and film a short ghost story, learn to play pétanque, try out some amazing new circus skills or even join a junior boot camp. Where else but Kids in the Park at Sydney Olympic Park?
This October, the school holidays programme at Sydney Olympic Park is designed to spring kids into action with a range of new and exciting activities.
It gets underway with a four-day NIDA Character Workshop at the Newington Armory Theatre. Kids work with tutors from NIDA to develop their acting skills, and earn bragging rights with friends for spending their holidays writing and filming a ghost story.
While most school holiday activity programmes only run during the week, the action doesn’t stop on weekends at Sydney Olympic Park. When Scout For A Day comes to Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October , there will be fun for all kids of all ages and families, with the range of FREE activities planned including canoeing, cooking and riding the flying fox.
The grand finale is Convoy For Kids on Sunday 15 October. 250 drivers with big trucks and big hearts travel from across the state raising money to aid transportation of sick kids. Their journey finishes at the Park where they provide Sydneysiders with a day of FREE family entertainment including performances by Golden Guitar winner Bill Chambers and The Rug Rats.
Add to that the great range of activities on and Sydney Olympic Park will be filled with laughter and excitement. Other activities include:
