There are two ski programs for kids at Perisher - the Junior Ski Kids for three to six year olds, and the Explorers Kids Club for kids from six to fourteen. For babies and toddlers from six weeks to three years, there is an excellent Créche/Day Care Centre.
The Junior Ski Kids Club is for 3 to 6 year olds and caters for half, full and multiple day packages as well as private lessons.
The Explorers Club for 6 to 14 year olds offers ski and snowboard programs over half, full and multiple days. Full day programs include lunch.
The Winter Sports Club offers a huge array of programs for the more serious skier or boarder, and there are 2 hour group and various private lesson options to choose from.
Perisher Blue's facilities include a halfpipe, mini halfpipe, dedicated rail park, snow deck park, advanced, intermediate and mini (kids) terrain parks.
Night skiing and boarding off the Village Eight Express Chair is also a fun activity for many families as is Cross Country Skiing and ever increasing in popularity, snowshoeing.
There is plenty of accommodation for families at Perisher allowing you to take a tired child back to your apartment for a nap, without having to travel anywhere. You can also stay on snow at Smiggins, or, if you don't mind the 30-minute journey to and fro, stay in Jindabyne, which has over one hundred fully self-contained properties ranging from studio apartments to large homes with up to six bedrooms. Getting to Perisher Blue is easy, you can fly, come by coach or drive to Perisher Blue. It is an easy 5.5 to 6 hour drive from Sydney. Regular flight services come into Canberra with transfers to Jindabyne and Perisher Valley. Coach services from most major cities run to the Snowy Mountains daily.
