Perisher’s excellent Snowsports School is the ideal way to start your snow holiday adventure; it offers skiing and snowboarding tuition for everyone from beginners to experts of all ages, across a range of different programs. For the kids there’s MILO Discovery Kids (3 to 4 years), MILO Adventure Kids (5 to 7 years) and MILO Explorer Kids (8 to 14 years). Tiny tots, from as young as 6 weeks old, can be cared for at Perisher’s Snowy Daycare, to allow parents the chance for their own quality time on the slopes.
Snowsports School Kids Activities Snapshot:
• Penguin Private 3-4years: A one-on-one private lesson for the littlest of skiers.
• Mum & Me Private Lesson: A qualified instructor teaches your child while giving parents tips for developing their skills.
• Private Snowboarding Lessons: For kids 5 to 7 years old with a qualified instructor, the little dudes will be ripping the bag in no time at all!
• Après Activities for kids 3-12 years: FREE of charge evening entertainment for children (3 – 12 years) with a valid all-day Explorer, Adventure and Discovery Kids program ticket. Offered during July and August, all you have to do is sign up in the morning during child check-in for the appropriate programs.
Tuesday: Playtime and Storytelling from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Thursday: Movie and Popcorn Night from 5:00pm to 6:45pm at the Discovery Kids Centre

Great Family Fun Snapshot:
• Tube Town: Slide on specially designed inflatable rubber tubes down groomed lanes and catch a purpose built lift back to the top. Tube Town is a load of fun for everyone! Why not try a family Snow Experience Pass, where you can catch the Skitube, ride Tube Town and / or take sightseeing chairlift rides on the one pass.
• Groomer Tours: Ride in one of Perisher's $450,000 snow groomers on night skiing nights: Tuesdays and Saturdays during July & August and Tuesdays during September.
• Milo Mini Park: A park especially designed for the tiny tots! Located in the Kid’s Snowsports School area in Perisher Valley, children up to 7 years old have the chance to experience mini jumps, dips, rails and burms in a safe and controlled environment.
• Columbia Fun Park: Composed of smaller scale fun boxes, rails, kickers, tabletops and hits, the Fun Park, located next to Piper T-bar in Smiggin Holes, is the perfect area for the emerging terrain park rider, young and old.
• Snow Shoe Tours: Head out with the whole family and experience the wonder of the snowfields at night under a full moon and learn about mountain fauna, flora and local culture.
• Night Skiing and Snowboarding: Open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm the Village 8 Express chairlift will speed you to the top of Front Valley in no time at all. Now you can have more fun while you squeeze in more runs! Night Skiing is scheduled to operate every Tuesday and Saturday night throughout July and August and on Tuesday nights in September.
• Fireworks: Enjoy a day of skiing or boarding, grab an early meal with the family at JAX, then relax and watch our spectacular fireworks display on Front Valley from 7:00pm onwards. Perisher's spectacular night of fireworks will be on every Thursday throughout July and August finishing on 3 September. Best of all it's FREE for all to see!
• Smiggin Holes Night Skiing and Fireworks: A safe and fun-packed night out for the little ones on Zoe's ski carpet, on Wednesday’s from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and from 8:00pm a fireworks spectacular not to be missed!
• Kid’s Entertainment: During your resort stay you may come across Dan Druff, Perisher’s resident clown wandering around the resort on his unicycle. Dan will have the kids in stitches with his fun antics. You may also see our mascots Professor Nugget and friends, remember to say ‘g’day’. Perisher also has it’s own jumping castle, often set up on fine weather days.
• Spring Carnival: Perisher is a fun place to be in spring. The sun comes out for longer and the snow is fantastic. The Coca-Cola Spring Carnival, from 7-20 September is a great time for families to be in the resort. After a morning on the snow, catch the assortment of great indoor and outdoor entertainment including live music, fun kids’ activities, events, cultural activities, fireworks and much more!
The resort offers an assortment of accommodation options both on-snow and in Jindabyne. For the ultimate in on-snow accommodation stay at the boutique Perisher Valley Hotel. Providing great family accommodation right at the base of the lifts, easy to access with prams.
The Station, located just 5km from Jindabyne and 15 minutes by car to the Skitube Alpine Railway (Perisher’s private railway line which takes guests directly from Bullocks Flat to the resort), provides comfortable accommodation for families with up to 1,200 beds and an assortment of restaurants and regular entertainment.
