 THREDBO is nestled high in the snowy mountains with plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained, and is the perfect place to get away at any time of the year. THREDBO is an easy 6-hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne or there are flights from Sydney to Cooma year round.

During the winter months, THREDBO turns into a white wonderland and is the best place for kids to be.
Skiing Thredbo with kids is so easy, especially if you stay somewhere like The River Inn in Woodridge, which is about 20 metres' walk from Thredboland, the kids' ski school for three to six year olds, and Friday Flat, the purpose-built beginners' ski area.
The Workshop is the ski school for kids aged seven to 14, or there are snowboard lessons. For youngsters or non-skiers, the Thredbo Child Care Centre is located across the road at the Thredbo Leisure Centre, which also houses two indoor heated swimming pools.
Friday Flat makes it easy to learn for kids and parents, and once you've mastered the first stages, you can jump on the Gunbarrel Express chairlift and really explore the mountain.
 Thredbo has trails for everyone, with the country's longest runs - Karel's T-Bar to Friday Flat is 5.9 kilometres long. Intermediates love Meritts while advanced skiers have plenty of black runs to tackle.
If your kids are older and are capable skiers, consider staying in Thredbo Village, where you'll find the biggest choice of accommodation, as well as dining and shopping, and more intermediate and advanced runs.
Thredbo also has an excellent range of activities in summer, with plenty to keep kids occupied.
During summer, THREDBO really comes alive, with a mountain of bush walking trails, mountain biking for all standards and the kids can have heaps of fun on the bobsled, waterslide and Mission Inflatable. During the school holidays, there are special activities to keep the kids amused, including Kids Club, the Kids Day Out, Kids Plaster Fun and the Kids Club Night Adventure. We don’t forget the rest of the family with entertainment in the Village and games on the Village Green.
There are over 20 restaurants in THREDBO serving everything from kebabs, pizzas and quick casual meals in the Bistro, to fine dining in restaurants such as Cascades and Segretto. During the warmer months, nothing beats a barbecue by the river with the sun setting over the mountains – the perfect end to another perfect THREDBO day.
