It's no coincidence that Sydney Aquarium is the No. 1 tourist attraction in Australia. Nowhere else in the world will you find a more extensive collection of Australian aquatic life with over 11,000 animals; Sydney Aquarium is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world.
Confront dangerous crocodiles, explore Australia's largest river system, and wander through a tropical mangrove swamp. Not to mention the delightful Platypus, the spectacular Weedy Sea Dragon and all the playful creatures of the Rivers of the Far North.
Don't miss the Open Ocean Floating Oceanarium where you will walk beneath the ocean and be surrounded by the world's largest collection of sharks in captivity - some over 3.5 metres long. Watch massive Grey Nurse Sharks and giant stingrays passing overhead!
With the biggest Great Barrier Reef Exhibit in the world, you will be captivated by the colour and magic of live corals and myriads of tropical fish. Observing this spectacle from a tunnel with totally transparent floor, ceiling and walls is a thrill not to be missed! See clown anemone fish dart amongst the wavering tentacles of an anemone, seas stars and sea cucumbers silently creeping amongst the coral, tangs and angelfish zipping about, and hovering scorpion fish and red rock cods.
Open every day 9am to 10pm. Sydney Aquarium is located on the city side of Darling Harbour near the Pyrmont Bridge.
