Koala Step into an animal adventure as you journey around Australia. Walk through iconic Australian habitats and encounter some of the most loved, feared and unique animals.

Wonder at Australia’s largest snake, and become absorbed in the colourful, beautiful world of butterflies. Meet cute and cuddly koalas at Gum Tree Valley, or have your photo taken with them at Koala Encounters. Come face to face with Rex, our huge Saltwater Crocodile, in Kakadu Gorge, or lose yourself in the Daintree Rainforest, home to the world’s most dangerous bird, the Southern Cassowary. Take a hop back in time with wallabies and wombats at Wallaby Cliffs and travel to The Outback to walk amongst the kangaroos and emus. Then, open your eyes to the wonderful world after dark at Nightfall.

WILD LIFE Sydney features interactive displays, inspiring and entertaining daily keeper talks and enhanced walk-through habitats including Koala Encounters, The Outback and Butterfly Tropics. With a huge range of unique and legendary Australian animals, WILD LIFE Sydney is THE Australian animal adventure. WILD LIFE Sydney is located in the heart of the city, at Aquarium Wharf, Darling Harbour. Open daily from 9am, last admissions at 5pm.

BUTTERFLY TROPICS
Frilled lizardTake wing to the Butterfly Tropics, with distinct wet and dry seasons, warm temperature and lush greenery and billabongs all year round. Be amazed at the diverse range of animals living in the Butterfly Tropics, with beautiful butterflies, vividly coloured snakes and frogs amongst the foliage, and turtles and crocodiles gliding through the water.

GUM TREE VALLEY
Nothing says “Australia” like the sweet-smelling gum tree! Find yourself amongst the dense gum tree forests in Australia’s East Coast. The bush is home to a huge variety of wildlife, including cuddly koalas, laughing kookaburras, lizards and snakes

WALLABY CLIFFS
Take a hop back in time at Wallaby Cliffs! This diverse terrain of jagged cliffs and grassy plains is home to only the toughest, most well-adapted Australian animals. Yellow-footed Rock-wallabies use their tails for balance as they scamper among the escarpments, while Hairy-nosed Wombats amble around munching grasses and finding shelter down deep burrows.

DAINTREE RAINFOREST
If you really want to get close to Australia’s animals, lose yourself in the beautiful Daintree Rainforest! Rainforests are the most ecologically diverse places anywhere on the planet, with unique, beautiful and sometime bizarre plants and animals including the Southern Cassowary, Red-legged Pademelon, Boyds Forest Dragons, and a colourful array of birds

THE OUTBACK
Freezing cold nights, blazing hot days and shrub-dotted red sand as far as the eye can see... it can only be one thing, Australia's iconic Outback! Australia’s Outback is one of the most extreme habitats on the planet. Far from a barren landscape, the Red Centre is teeming with plants and animals including the iconic Red Kangaroo, Emu, Frilled-neck Lizard and more!

KAKADU GORGE
Marvel at the endless variety of the Northern Territory’s Top End landscape, ranging from deep gorges and grasslands to floodplains and estuary flats. Kakadu Gorge is home to freshwater turtles, beautiful birds and the Saltwater Crocodile - the largest reptile on Earth!

NIGHTFALL
Have you ever heard something spooky go “bump” in the night? Well, what if you heard a slither, a skitter, a swoop or a twitter? The soft fall of a paw… then the ominous click of a claw? Bilbies, bats and more, the weirdest and most wonderful creatures venture out after all the other animals have gone to bed.

Koala Encounters invites you to get up close with one of these iconic animals, and have a photo of yourself with the Koalas, perfect for making your friends and family jealous!
