The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife SanctuaryA leader in its field of wildlife immersion exhibits, the award winning Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary provides visitors with a chance to observe up close a huge range of flora and fauna.  Visitors can wander through three different and unique environments that depict a wide variety of animals of the surrounding Rainforest, Wetlands and Grasslands.      

Animal presentations
  
Daily animal presentations allow guests to see and touch animals up close.  These presentations provide a learning experience about  Pythons, Koalas and Crocodiles.

Breakfast with the birds

For the ultimate, the original Breakfast with the Birds is a visitor must do.  Guests are immersed within the Wetlands environment whilst enjoying the sounds and colours of wildlife as they wander freely amongst the guests. With one of Queenslands best tropical buffets, Breakfast with the Birds is an experience not to be missed.  Daily 8 am – 10.30 am. 

Lunch with the Lorikeets

Treat yourself to a sumptuous Lunch with the Lorikeets. Enjoy soup, a selection of steak, fish, pasta, salads, cheeses, tropical fruits, tea & coffee. Daily from 12pm-2pm.

Guided Tours

Informative guided tours are available throughout the day, where experienced guides introduce visitors to the special interdependence that the wildlife shares with The Wet Tropics region.

Opening Hours
  
The park is open every day of the year (except Christmas Day) 8 am to 5 pm. 
Breakfast with the Birds is daily between 8 am and 10.30 am. 
Lunch with the Lorikeets is daily between 12 pm and 2 pm.

Directions:

For those guests staying in Port Douglas, The Rainforest Habitat is situated at the start Port Douglas Road. The local bus will drop you at the door.

For those guests staying in Cairns or North of Port Douglas follow the Captain Cook Highway to Port Douglas.

Family facilities

The Rainforest Habitat is family friendly. It is a great environment for children to interact with animals and learn about the environment and wildlife.

Food/shopping

Food & drinks can be purchased at the café or gift shop or Breakfast with the Birds or Lunch with the Lorikeets is available.
