New Visa Information Web Service for USA

USA passportThe United States will introduce the new Visa Information Web Service and Appointment System in May. The service will provide timely and accurate information to the public regarding how to apply for a visa to enter the United States of America. Applicants will be able to access information for non-immigrant visas. In addition, the Visa Information Service will help applicants determine whether they must apply in person, and if so will assist the applicant in scheduling a non-immigrant visa interview appointment. All non-immigrant visa interviews will be scheduled through this service. The US Visa Information Service is provided to the public on behalf of the US Mission in Australia by TeleTech Government Solutions, LLC in partnership with Computer Sciences Corporation.

The new Visa Information Service and Appointment System will provide flexibility in scheduling non-immigrant visa interview appointments. The new Visa Information Web Service will be the only official source for appointment scheduling. Applicants will have the option to reschedule or cancel an interview if they cannot attend the originally scheduled appointment.

This service will be available to the public 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world. To receive non-immigrant visa information and to schedule interview appointments at the Consulate General over the internet, applicants will have to make a Visa Information Service payment online. The cost of this service is AU$14 and is charged to Visa or MasterCard, credit or debit card. After making the Visa Information Service payment, an applicant will receive an internet Personal Identification Number (PID). Applicants must keep their PIN so that they can use it each time they access the service. The applicant and up to four immediate family members residing in the same household may be scheduled using one PIN.

The United States is pleased to announce this new service to peter meet the needs of visa applicants in Australia. All individuals are urged to apply for their visa at least two months in advance of planned travel.
