Resort and Spa
There’s no other island quite like Daydream, on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. It is one of the few inhabited islands of the spectacular Whitsundays group, with a fringing reef a mere flipper’s kick from shore and a fascinating Living Reef coursing through the island itself. The Living Reef is one of Australia’s most unique, interactive attractions, tended by a team of marine biologists and home to myriad species of wondrous marine life.
Being close to the mainland, yet right on a fringing coral reef, Daydream is ideal for destination weddings, with picture-perfect backdrops such as Lovers Cove, Mermaids Beach or the stunning Endeavour Chapel, overlooking the sparkling Coral Sea. For conferences and events, everything you want is here, from an outdoor cinema under the stars to adrenaline-packed activities and the ultimate relaxation of the world-class Rejuvenation Spa.
Guests enjoy a diverse range of dining options inspired by an abundance of fresh local produce, delivering the “Restaurant Australia” experience for which our country is famous.
Each of the island’s 296 rooms and suites offer a delightful view to wake up to – lush, tropical gardens or looking out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays.
Let the kids show you how to have a good time and create a few ‘forever’ moments by sharing in a raft of fun things for the whole family. After you’ve dipped your toes in with old favourites like tennis, beach cricket, volleyball and mini golf, get your crew together for an afternoon of reef cruising on a glass-bottom boat. For the more daring, a Banana Boat Ride offers an exhilarating alternative to waterskiing – just remember to hold on tight.

An abundance of fresh local produce and the sense of what it means to be “on holidays” inspires the chefs at Daydream Island. The range of dining options is diverse, offering guests the perfect break inbetween activities, or a fitting end to an extraordinary day. The emphasis is on relaxed dining that enhances the Daydream holiday mood.
Daydream’s signature restaurant comes with an incredible view. With a menu as irresistible as the exotic sea sirens from which it takes its name, Mermaids welcomes long, languid lunches, just-because cocktails and exquisite dinners that celebrate the region’s exceptional seafood, steak and fresh produce. Look forward to the “Restaurant Australia” experience for which our country is famous.
A delightfully casual bistro-pub located at the island’s buzzing southern end. A la carte menu, icy cold draught beers, wines from Australia’s famed vineyards, conversations to be had, games to be enjoyed. A fun place to gather before relaxing at Daydream’s one-of-a-kind, open-air island cinema under the stars.
We call it the hub of delectivity. Located in Daydream’s main atrium, Waterfalls presents a mouthwatering buffet breakfast daily, with themed buffet dining on selected evenings. Families especially love the variety that includes fresh local seafood, Aussie BBQ, smokey roast carvery, pizza and international cuisine.
